I'm curious how others are handling what must be a common situation -- how to manage regular import of contacts via an sftp site, using the Setup > Data Import feature. We are just finalizing a program where we will be importing new contacts three times a week via Data Import. Eloqua provides basic tools for managing these imports -- you can schedule uploads and point to a specific sftp site, directory, and file, Eloqua will send a notification email when a file has been uploaded -- but there are important limitations, as well:
- The incoming file must always have the same name (i.e. no time or date stamps in the filename)
- You need to manage the sftp site yourself -- Eloqua doesn't provide tools to delete or archive files that have been successfully processed
Has anyone come up with good processes to handle these issues? Are there third-party AppCloud tools that might help? I found a couple of apps to handle outgoing sftp exports, but nothing that helps with the import side of this.
