IE removing .exe file extension

Hi there

I have just discovered that when we provide an email link within an Eloqua email, the .exe extension is dropped when downloaded through IE by the user. If the user goes through Chrome, Firefox or Safari they leave the .exe extension intact.

I've tried to remove the Eloqua tracking form the link in the email, however, it keeps adding the following query strings every time I save it even though I have selected to remove tracking from the link - .exe?elq=~~eloqua..type--emailfield..syntax--recipientid~~&elqCampaignId=~~eloqua..type--campaign..campaignid--0..fieldname--id~~

How can I stop Eloqua from making this dynamic insertion?

FYI, I have also found another article which goes on to suggest a solution, however, I am struggling to get Eloqua to work with it - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2185570/internet-explorer-removes-exe-extension-from-download-when-followed-by-url-para

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sam
