I have called people to make an introduction based on what they wrote on Topliners. People have also called me based on what I wrote on Topliners. This community has helped me immensely with my knowledge of modern marketing.
Your email and phone number are not listed on Topliners, so I must suspect that they found your contact info elsewhere? (Zoominfo was all I could find on you specifically which means you are relatively private - your organization does have a main line though).
The fact this sales rep is actively listening in the community makes me happy. What you call stalking, some sales representatives call intelligent listening. This sales rep went into the call with a bit of context. They have some understanding of the concept of social selling and perhaps even sales and marketing alignment.
The fact that you are irritated means that they:
a, Likely were not an Eloqua user themselves
b, Couldn't offer any value to you
c, Didn't contact you via a respectful method (
)d, Pushed the sale too early
e, Weren't really trying to be a part of this community
f, All of the above?
I work actively to make this a better community and help Eloqua clients. I only hope we can teach people like this sales rep about this community so that it keeps its core values of helping one another as Topliners grows.
