the signature rules define the sender of the email (from name, from email address, reply to ) .. this needs to be drive off of a contact field or CDO field (for example, if the sales rep full name field has value "John Doe" you want the email to be sent from "John Doe"s user record) .. This needs to be created (assets-->component library-->signature rule) .. the execution portion --> when sending an email through campaign canvas, you will see the option to include a signature rule (in the email step settings) .. for the signature within the email itself, you have couple of options --> you can directly merge the contact fields that contain the sales rep information or you can use a signature layout. The signature layout (assets-->component library-->signature layout) is basically a layout/collection of the user fields. This runs in conjunction with the signature rule , as the rule is what decided who the sender is.
